Thanks to everyone for the effort on this year’s Clan gathering. It was just wonderful. It was our first time coming, and it will be on our travel calendar for as often as I we are able to come. It was a fantastic experience. Thanks again.

Dear clan as I don’t live that far away. I was wondering if it was possible to turn. At the bbq and pay for a ticket on the day as not sure if working that day. I only, I’ve through Longtown.

Good afternoon. My wife and I are attending the Gathering this year and are in the process of making travel arrangements. We plan to drive our rental car and follow the bus to Flodden as we are staying in Edinburgh that evening. Since we will not need bus tickets, can we still be included in the lunch count? If so, what is the cost so we can include in our payment and application form. Thanks very much. We are excited to attend!

    Regards,

    James Dougherty

Hi Margaret! I am looking forward to attending the 2013 Gathering!

I have a question about using Paypal to pay for my tickets. (I am used to using websites to buy things that offer Paypal as an option for payment. I usually click on a button to buy something and then click on the Paypal option, which brings me to the Paypal website to sign into my account and authorize from which source I want to pay, and then the seller’s website brings me back to their website with the feat accompplished).

I called Paypal on the phone to ask about this situation and the Customer Service rep helped me to see on the US Paypal website, a “send money” button that can be used with an email address. BUT he cautioned me to email or contact someone to make sure that the “send money” button was the correct way to do it, before I actually did it.

So is that correct? Thank you very much!

My wife and I will be coming from the Central Coast, NSW, Australia to the 2013 gathering in August . I am registered disabled and unable to walk very far or stand for long periods of time and will be 70 this year. Therefore, I would like to apply for a disabled parking permit at Redheugh. We are really looking forward to the event and meeting other members. Thank you. Bill

    • margaret eliott January 4, 2013 at 4:20 pm #

William – if you put your request on the application form then I will send you a parking permit with your tickets. Will you have a wheelchair?

      • Hillary February 11, 2013 at 11:50 am #

Will you please give me a name to connect with re 2013 Gathering?
I will become a member and also like to know about accommodation and as I am
over 80 need somewhere to leave my car or have accom. as near as possible to walk?
I’m not registered disabled but still need help finding how to get back and forward. If
the bus is picking us up at Newcastleton, will it take us back again? If not, I will need
to use my car. Also is there a group who is going I could join in to travel from Hawick
say? Or anyone else willing to share? I live in Midlothian. Please respond as I would
like to get this all sorted out.
Please send me form as I have had trouble downloading it in the library!

        • Margaret Eliott March 1, 2013 at 9:14 am #

          Dear Hillary,
I can give you a disabled parking ticket so that you can park at Redheugh rather than take the shuttle bus as I can understand that it might be difficult. Woodside B & B in Newcastleton should be able to accommodate you. woodside@newcastleton.net. Just email me on redheugh@gathering.net and tell me what you want to go to, address etc. etc. and all your details.
          Thank you.
          Margaret

  9. margaret October 3, 2012 at 4:19 pm #

of course – friendly border terrier welcome as long as it does’nt eat chickens/ducks/sheep and resident dogs

  10. Sue Eaton September 18, 2012 at 4:51 pm #

We are hoping to come to the Clan gathering in 2013. Is it possible to bring a dog (a very friendly Border Terrier) to the Barbeque / Ceilidh if these are daytime events? We don’t like to plan on leaving him in the car during the day just in case it is sunny !!

    • Janet Elliott June 18, 2013 at 11:18 am #

Do you have to bring the dog? Not everyone enjoys having dogs weaving around their legs, begging food, and defecating. Clan gatherings should be for people not dogs.

I just watched ABC Good Morning American’s Josh Elliott talk about the idea of wearing a kilt and so….I looked up the Elliott Clan and hope you contact him about wearing the Elliott Tartan on the show….so kool. I have roots in the Baird, Douglas, Hamilton and more clans..that is where my redhair comes from.

We have friends that are of Scottish heritage and are considering making a trip with us. Is the 2013 Scotland gathering for Elliot Clan members only or can friends come along?

    • Margaret Eliott May 28, 2012 at 9:23 am #

I am sure your friends would find it very dull but of course, if they come with you they will be welcome.

I would definately like more information about the Elliot Clan Gathering in 2013 in Canada.
    Thank you so much.

    • Margaret Eliott May 28, 2012 at 9:20 am #

The Elliot Clan Gathering 2013 will be in Scotland. If you are a member of the Elliot Clan Society you will be receiving information and ticket application forms this autumn. You will need to get hold of your local Canadian Elliot Clan to find out what gatherings they will be at in Canada.
      Hope this helps.
