Elliott School of International Affairs - on this wider organisational history of the Elliot name I'd like to mention the little known Elliott Brothers Computer Company (UK) of the 1950s-60s which traces back to London instrument maker William Elliott (circa 1804).

Wikipedia has a decent reference with further references listed see

My 6th Great-grandfather, Richard Elliott, was born en route to America from Ireland. He was a famous Indian fighter and pioneer in the Cowpasture region of Augusta, Virginia. His daughter,Isabella Elliott (along with her husband, Col. John Haddon) were some of the first white people in Indiana Territory.

My GGGGG Grandfather, George William Elliott, who came to the United States from Leicestershire, England. He fought in the Texas Revolution with Capt. Steward's volunteers and provided his blacksmithing services for the Battle of Velasco. He also operated an important ferry at Elliotts, near Bay City, Texas.

Good evening,
Just read with great interest Margaret's speech on the Border Reivers Exhibition at Tuille House. In particular I noted her references to Kinmont Willie Armstrong and I would like to know if you would include a link to my website.
In essence my site is about a book I have written about the capture and rescue of Kinmont Willie in 1596. It is told from two perspectives. I have researched the primary sources of the event to give a factual account of the capture and rescue and then used this to write a fictional account which is the majority of the book. It is called 'Deadlock and Deliverance'.
I am currently writing another book about Border Ballads and Stories which I hope to publish in October.
Also I have almost finished a book about the 'Rising of the North' in 1569/70 which involved the Liddesdale Border Reivers when the northern Earls sought sanctuary. This book is a few months away from being published. Jock of the Side was prominent in this episode of the rebellion or rising.
I live in Walton, near Brampton and although a textile technologist by profession, I have always been avidly interested in history. When I moved north to firstly Carlisle, then Hawick, and then back to where I live now, I fell in love with the history of the English Scottish Border.
I would dearly love a link to your site,
Regards and best wishes,
Tom.
P.S. I have written many online articles in an effort to promote my book. Perhaps you might be interested in looking at the following:
